Your skin and hair will feel softer from the very first shower. No more dry itchy skin or unpleasant odors from the chemicals in your water. The NaturSoftTM System represents the superior alternative with respect to dealing with the symptoms of water hardness without resorting to ion exchange (salt) based systems. The amount of wasted water and release of salt into the environment has increasingly become unacceptable. When deployed in a system, this unique technology induces the formation of microscopic calcium crystals which effectively eliminate the side effects of hard water. The NaturSoftTM media does not require any regular maintenance. NaturSoftTM media does not participate in any reactions it merely promotes them. Therefore, the material is not sacrificial and it does not get consumed resulting in its exceptional long life.

"What a scam" 2010-08-22
By Patrick Madden (White Lake, MI United States)
From what I can tell, anyone who gave this piece of garbage more than one star has not had it more than a couple of months and has no clue what is coming. I spent $2,000 on this and it is the biggest waste of money I have ever encountered. First of all, if you talk to an actual scientist or expert, there is no way to soften water without salt. It is not scientifically possible no matter how badly you want to believe it. This system does not recycle when it supposedly softens water, which means that the water inside fowls. We are looking into replacing it now, and have had it for 3 years now. Two years of that time a nightmare trying to get it to work, but now we are ready to say we wasted our time and money. The first year, it sortof work, but I think only because of the prefilter. You can get a filter like the prefilter anywhere, like Home Depot. All my white clothes and sheets are orange, our water smells like dirt, my $1,100 Bosch dishwasher is taking a hit with the scale, the icemaker/water dispenser on my brand new refrigerator has been trashed. I am furious, but as you can see from the other reviews, the customer service at Pelican is a joke. Once they have your money, they will do nothing to help you except try to sell you more equipment to tack on it that doesn't work either. That is how scams work. Be careful of the websites you read that supposedly rate the Pelican highly, they are actually put out there on the Internet by "Pelican". I am trying to get the word out there by leaving reviews like this, so nobody else wastes there money like I did and has to go through this. It appears that I'm not the only one. The biggest joke, is how they get you to sit there and wait for this thing to clean your plumbing of all scale.. wait for it... wait for it... oops - your warranty is over. Too bad. So sad.

"Beware and do testing before buying" 2009-12-21
By Leslie Gustafson
I have had this system (saltless softner and whole house filter) for 1.5 years now. Bought it when my daughter was born so we didn't have to worry about sodium levels in the drinking water. It seemed to work (maybe was just me wanting it to seem like it after spending so much) for the first 6 months. Then I really started to see the white residue build up again, it seemed to be worse then before. I contacted Pelican and they asked me to have my water tested and see what the copper ppm where. So I did, it came out to be .5 ppm - this they told me voided out the warranty and the system had stopped working due to the copper levels. So I did some research and the copper levels of .5 ppm is on the low end to any cities public water. Pelican offered to sell me a salt softner at a slight discount (still $1000), but there is no way I am doing business with this company after they have such a unrealistic guidlines on the kind of water it will work with and were unwilling to do anything else to make the $2000 purchase function like it stated it would. On their site it just says "High levels of copper will effect the out come. So BEWARE and have your water tested before buying.

"too hard of water for system" 2009-04-30
By kak590 (st. paul, mn)
i bought this system two years ago. since, i've had to call in to exchange media for a more commercial brand because my water was so hard. the system still does not claim to do what is published on their site. i have horrible hard water build ups in shower, on all appliances that use water(dishwasher, water dispenser in frige, coffee maker, washing machine)i've also got 'cloudy' ice cubes, water spots on everything that comes from dishwasher. i've called the company numerous times, they still stand by what is written and that's it. also, pipes are getting clogged with 'gunk'. anyway, we are getting rid of it and going back to salt softeners. our water is some of the very hardest. it measures a 20 on the hardness scale. this product has given me more work to do, i've had to switch to extremely high chemical cleaning agents to get the water stains off and for my dishwasher. it's just been more work for me since it's been installed, and the fact that it doesn't do what they claim.

"got it and like it" 2008-11-29
By T. Smith (Texas, Houston)
We installed the Pelican filter and softener 2 months ago and can visibly see the quality improvement of the water...works well, not as soft as the rainsoft system, however love not having to use salt. Our skin is not dry, our bathroom stays cleaner (no build up), and we use much less soap. Definately improves city water greatly!

"Great Whole House Water Treatment System" 2008-03-03
By Josh (Apache Junction, AZ United States)
This system is great. It took about about 6 hours to install as I have not done any plumbing before. After a couple of days of watter with a little bit of a gray tint the water feels and tastes so much better. Every home should have a water treatment system, and if you are looking for one around this price point, this is the one to get. It uses no salt and requires no backwashing (after initial setup). Get it, you'll be happy.
