We use alot of well water in the summer for yard sprinklers. The larger 50 micron filter lasts longer than the GE products for a lower price.

This filter is also an exact replacement for GE Whole house cartrige FXHSC only its 50 microns instead of 30 microns

Does what it says. Removes large sediment particles from water supply. Easy to replace. Recommended if your water supply has problems with sediment, however, if fine sediment or chemicals are a problem you will of course need a different filter.
